FAQS
HOW DO I PAY FOR TREATMENT?
Payment to be made via bank transfer following receipt of your booking confirmation email. Bank transfer details will be provided in your booking confirmation email. Appointments that have not been paid for within 24 hours of booking will be released back to the booking system.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
If you need to cancel your appointment, you can click on the link in your confirmation email, or you can get in touch via email at sunilap.acu@gmail.com or mobile at 07424477319. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required for cancellation or postponement of appointments. If more than 48 hours notice is given your payment will be fully refunded via bank transfer.

Please note this policy is not in place just to punish late cancellations! It safeguards running a small business as well as allowing other patients who may appreciate booking into a specific slot the time to do so.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE TYPICALLY NEEDED?
The beauty of Acupuncture is that no one size fits all! Acupuncture has a cumulative effect so whilst improvements can be seen after one session, they are more likely to be short-lived. Be prepared to have about 6-8 sessions on average, every 1-2 weeks. Some patients also prefer 'maintenance' treatments which are more spaced out, which can be discussed at your appointment.

For support with fertility, depending on what stage you are at, be prepared to have consistent treatment over 3 menstrual cycles on average. This is individualised from patient to patient so do get in touch if you have any questions!
WHAT TYPES OF HEALTH INSURANCE DO YOU ACCEPT?
As a member of the British Acupuncture Council, my treatments are covered by many health insurance providers. Please click here to find further details. I am more than happy to provide invoices.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO AN APPOINTMENT?
Ensure you wear loose clothing for your appointment, or items of clothing that can be removed, depending on your preference. You will be covered at all times.
CAN YOU TREAT PEOPLE WHO ARE NEEDLE PHOBIC?
As well as using incredibly fine needles, acupressure, moxabustion and cupping can be used to replace the therapeutic effect of needles. Every step of the treatment will be explained in detail and treatments can be tailored to your needs!
IS TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE (TCM) ACUPUNCTURE THE SAME AS DRY NEEDLING OR WESTERN MEDICAL ACUPUNCTURE?
In short, no! I faciliate TCM Acupuncture, where I formulate a Chinese medical diagnosis and choose a treatment plan based on that. Practitioners who adopt dry needling or western medical acupuncture do not use Chinese medicine theory and choosing which mode of treatment to use is simply down to your preference.
